Life Impact Sessions

  • Beyond Scouting.  How skills learned in Scouting can be applied to school, college, professional, entrepreneurial endeavors.

  • African-American Male - A Species Destined for Extinction ... Unless. Open and honest discussion on the pitfalls that affect African-American males from succeeding in today's society.  Facilitator offers keys to success to avoid pitfalls.

  • Legends in Scouting.  Presentation/discussion on individuals who helped bring Scouting to African-American communities.

  • A Scout Is Reverent. This session will be conducted as a group on Sunday morning. 

Learning Sessions

  • Living History. Show and tell walk-through of Prairie View A&M's historical collections including static and living displays. 

  • First Aid in Action.  Scouts will be immersed into a real-world traumatic event where first aid, safety, and emergency preparedness skills are required.

  • Map & Compass.  Interactive review of map and compass skills.  Units are responsible for bringing a compass for each patrol.

  • GPS Fast Start.  Introduction to Land Navigation using a GPS.  Units are responsible for bringing a GPS unit for their troop or crew.

  • Going Green in Scouting.  Focuses on ways to save energy and conserve.

Demonstrations

  • Order of the Arrow Dance Team. Demonstration by the Order of the Arrow Dance Team from Dallas, Tx.

Wide-Area Game 

  • AMAZING RACE!  Camporee-wide activity requiring physical, mental, and Scout skills.
