Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where will the camporee be held? The camporee will be held on the campus of Prairie View A&M University.  Download Camporee Map.

  2. What are the camporee dates?  February 19-21, 2010. 

  3. How much is the camporee cost? Thirty dollars ($30) per person.  The fee includes all meals, camporee patch, and event tee-shirt.

  4. What is the deadline for registration?  January 19, 2010.

  5. May I pay my registration fees upon arrival at the camporee? NO. All fees, including extra banquet tickets must be paid in full 1 week prior to the start of the camporee.  NO MONIES OR FEES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON-SITE.

  6. Do I need to cook for the camporee?  NO.  All meals will be catered in the university cafeteria at Prairie View A&M University. 

  7. I am not camping but want to attend the activities on Saturday; how much does it cost? $30 per person. Includes meals, camporee patch, and event t-shirt.

  8. I want to attend the Saturday night dinner in the university's ballroom; how much does dinner only cost? $20 per person.

  9. What equipment should I bring? You should plan on bringing equipment for a weekend campout - tents, packs, sleeping bags, troop flag, lanterns, personal gear, etc.  No cooking gear is necessary.  All food will be catered by the university cafeteria.

  12. May I bring my non-Scout son or daughter to the camporee?  No.  This event is for registered Scouts and Adult Leaders.

  13. I am a volunteer or vendor helping with camporee setup, do I need to register with the Boy Scouts of America?  No.  You will be required to sign a release of liability form for this event.

  14. I am a facilitator or instructor; do I need to register with the Boy Scouts of America?  No.  You will be required to sign a release of liability form for this event.

  15. May I donate funds above or below the levels indicated in the sponsorship letter?  Yes.

  16. Where should I mail my registration form,  camporee fees, and/or donations?
